In a large bowl combine the cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, flour, and salt. Then add the milk and knead with your hands to create dough. Set aside for 30 minutes to an hour. Once the dough has set, roll over flour until it is about 1/4 inches thick. Cut into thin strips using a pizza cutter. |

On medium heat, pour enough oil to deep fry in a large sauce pan. Once you see small bubbles forming around a strip, add the strips and fry until crispy and golden. Make sure to fry slowly so that dough cooks thoroughly. Once fried, remove the strips and place them on a plate with paper towel. |

In the washed sauce pan, place the ginger, sugar, cinnamon, and water over medium heat. Use a thermometer to check temperature. Once heat reaches 225-235 degrees add 1/2 tsp vanilla and stir. With fried dough in a large metallic bowl, pour the syrup over the top of the dough and combine. Let the syrup set while stirring occasionally so not to let the dough stick to each other. Serve and enjoy! |

My bakery stopped making Mithai and I miss it! The recipe is very simple, my grandchildren love it, so I’ll be making it! Thank you for your recipe!
