How to Make Shrimp Alfredo

Begin by filling a large pot 2/3 full of water and place it on high heat. After the water begins to boil, throw a pinch of salt in the pot and add the fettuccine/penne pasta. Cook the noodles until they are al-dente or soft (about 10 minutes).

While the noodles boil, place the shrimp flat and pat them dry with a paper towel. Put the shrimp in a mixing bowl and add 1/4 teaspoon of paprika and pepper and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and mix. Place the large pan over medium-high heat and pour in 1 tablespoon of oil. Evenly distribute the shrimp across the pan and cook each side for about 2 minutes until pink and golden. Remove the shrimp and place them in a bowl.

Once the noodles are done strain them and place them to the side. On the cutting board, chop 1/2 an onion. Place the chopped onion and 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet used to cook the shrimp. Saute for 5 minutes or until soft. Finely chop or mince a clove of garlic and add it to the saute'd mix. Stir for about another minute. Then add 1/3 cup of white wine and stir until the moisture is nearly all gone. Once gone, add 2 cups of cream. Cook to a simmer and add 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese and stir well until cheese is melted. Season with pepper and salt then remove from heat.

Finally, add the shrimp and pasta to the Alfredo sauce and slowly stir until all the ingredients are coated in the sauce.
Dish and serve with your choice of parsley or basil to top it off!
